California

This was a two week vacation we took in California which we took the opportunity to visit many places throughout the State.  Of course being a Disney fan, we had to stop in to Anaheim and visit Disneyland, where the magic began.

Some of the other highlights of our trip included Napa Valley, San Francisco (Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Alcatraz), Big Sur (the Bixby Bridge), Central Coast of California (Hearst Castle) and the Monterey Peninsula (Pebble Beach).  We also had to spin through the Los Angeles area which included Burbank Studios – former home of The Tonight Show and we did see Jay Leno driving one of his many cars.  Hollywood and Beverly Hills for the stars and Rodeo Drive as well as Santa Monica Pier.  A quick drive south took us to San Diego and La Joila.

Yosemite National Park  was a great chance to unwind for a couple of days and mother nature was impressive.  By far the most photographed spot in the park is Tunnel View, which frames Yosemite Valley to perfection.  There was a day hike to Vernal Falls and viewing the Grizzly Giant which is a giant sequoia in Mariposa Grove.  I recommend "camping” in Curry Village while staying in the park.
