Janet's NCL Escape Adventure

This past June 2016, I had the opportunity to attend a Seminar at Sea aboard the Norwegian Escape, NCL’s newest cruise ship.
During our 7-day cruise, we got to explore and experience this amazing ship.  Some of our outstanding memories include the ease of check-in, exceptional friendly staff, sail-away parties, entertainment, dining experiences, multiple bars and lounges, activities and organized disembarkation.  The staff really conveyed a warm appreciation for each passenger sailing.

Outdoor Areas

Discover a new world of Freestyle Cruising on Norwegian Escape.

The view from the top deck allows you the opportunity to checkout the water slides and pool areas.  I can attest that the Free Fall is one of the fastest waterslides at sea at the Aqua Park. There is also a rope course for those looking for some adventure.  Walk 8 feet across the side of Norwegian Escape on one of two Planks or complete the Ropes Course.  Feel your heart drop as you zip over the ocean on one of five Sky Rail zip tracks.  The Waterfront consists of the quarter-mile oceanfront promenade that includes some restaurants and bars.  You can also watch the sunset from this area.  We dined on the promenade at La Cucina’s.  The food and service were amazing.  The sous chef paid a visit to our table.   Dine along The Waterfront and let the ocean be your backdrop.

Dining and Entertainment

When it comes to dining with Norwegian Cruise Lines, you have plenty to choose from throughout the ship.  Freestyle cruising also allows you to decide where, when and with whom you dine with each night.  Steak is the standard at Cagney’s Steakhouse, American-style steakhouse. Pull up a seat along The Waterfront or eat inside.  Moderno Churrascaria is their Brazilian-style steakhouse.  Dine along The Waterfront and let the ocean be your backdrop.

Non-stop entertainment at Howl at the Moon, the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ rolls dueling piano show. Bring your friends and your favorite song requests for an unforgettable musical journey. The musicians performed our favorite songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today.  So get ready for a howlin’ good time here.

Order one of more than 50 different bottled beers or any of the 24 draft beers on tap, including local Miami craft beer from Wynwood Brewing Company at The District Brew House.  They have live music and a photo booth.  Get closer to paradise with two quintessential Jimmy Buffett venues: Margaritaville at Sea and the 5 O’clock Somewhere Bar.

St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands)

We took a scenic ride to Magen’s Bay Beach and then off for some duty free shopping downtown.    Magens Bay is acclaimed as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic Society.

Tortola (British Virgin Islands)

We took a cruise along the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda.  After arriving, we boarded an open safari bus for a short ride to The Baths. We enjoyed swimming with mammoth boulders, palms, and sea caves. Travel along the trails and boulders and discover hidden caves and sea pools.

Nassau (Bahamas)

We started our day with a scenic boat ride through historic Nassau Harbour towards Blue Lagoon Island.  You can observe dolphins and sea lions at play, enjoy water sports, eat, enjoy refreshing tropical drinks or do nothing but lounge in the chairs or hammocks.  After we swam and ate lunch, we headed back to town to do some sight-seeing and shopping.
